Are You Ready to Become a Gardening Guru? Check Out This Class for Beginners!

Are you in need of some time outdoors? The Tulsa Botanic Garden promotes the beauty and importance of plants and nature to create a more sustainable and harmonious world. Just in time for the Spring, Tulsa Botanic Garden welcome you to take part in Seed Starting 101.

Get a jump on your summer plantings with Ellen Weatherholt, curator of the Children's Discovery Garden. Using readily available household materials, Ellen will guide participants through the creation of their own "mini-greenhouse" along with the process of sowing seeds. The seeds started in March may ultimately be transplanted into a summer veggie garden. Think tomatoes, peppers and herbs!

Ellen aims to continue working as an advocate for public gardens and sustainable development, as well as continuing to learn and grow in many beautiful garden settings during her career. worked as a gardener for the Parks and Recreation Department, as well as developing her public horticulture background at Morris Arboretum, Duke Gardens, the Tulsa Zoo, and Oklahoma State University.

Seed Starting 101 will take place on March 9 at 3:30pm and is open to everyone. Admission is $7 for members and $10 for non-members. We hope to see you there and encourage you to bring a friend!
